The College of the Rockies, which is located in southeastern BC, is well known for the extensive range of courses it offers as well as its emphasis on all-round development.
The College focuses on smaller sized classes to assure personalized instruction and boasts of the latest technology and dedicated and proficient staff to enhance the learning experience of the students. Every year, the College provides instruction to approximately 18,000 full-time equivalent students which also include more than 100 international students from over 20 countries. Here, you will find a plethora of modules which will furnish you with all the knowledge you will need to begin a new career, learn a new skill or trade or even upgrade your current levels of education. The College offers both full and part time courses which range from vocational programs, trades, career technical services as well as academic studies. If you can't make it to the College, you can even enroll for one of their online classes which offer more than 20 alternatives.
The College is divided into five regional campuses which offer a number of diverse courses, all of which are centered on Adult Basic Education. The Practical Herbalist Program which is offered both on campus as well as online courses which is one of the most comprehensive programs of its kind in Canada. Dining facilities for students take the shape of the Class Act Dining Room where they can savor exquisite delicacies courtesy the students of the Culinary Arts Program. The College also has a daycare center, namely the Children's Center.
The Athletics and Recreation Department offers several subsidized programs and includes the Peaks Climbing Wall where you can also rent your equipment like harnesses, shoes and belay devices. The Disc Golf Course features a forested layout with top notch topographic features including two gully crossings. You can even participate in the Avalanche Summer Volleyball Camps which are held every year between the 27th and the 30th of August.
