Go up for a slam dunk when you visit the critically praised Women's Basketball Hall of Fame & Museum, located less than an hour from Gatlinburg in Knoxville. As soon as you spot the 10 ton, 30-foot-tall basketball swooshing into the glass rim, you'll know you're in the presence of true greatness. Once inside the Hall of Fame, visitors will be greeted by a stunning statue dedicated to the mission of the organization - Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, Promote the Future. Exhibits include a Hall of Fame Timeline dedicated to the first century of women's basketball.
There are also specific exhibits dedicated to the Hall of Fame inductees, which includes Cheryl Miller, Pat Head Summit, and the "Mother of Women's Basketball," Senda Berenson Abbott. Interactive features at the Hall of Fame, which has been hailed as an architectural wonder since opening in 1999, include a playground with plenty of hoops to shoot through, an immersive huddle experience, and more! Visitors can even add themselves to the "Hall," and later check out their photograph online!
