Boasting of over 10,000 exotic sea creatures, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg is America's most fun, lively aquarium.
Open 365 days a year, this site is a great visit for both kids and adults- the attractions are interesting for any age or interest, especially in Stingray Bay, where guests can pet a live stingray.
In the Ocean Realm, visitors will meet rare and exotic species of fish, along with the better known varieties as well. This is a great exhibit for children especially, who love seeing if they can find Nemo.
Shark lagoon is the biggest and most popular exhibit. Visitors wander through the tunnel on a 340-foot glidepath to meet eye to eye with sawfish, snappers, sea turtles, and of course sharks!
For families with small children, or school groups, the Discovery Center is a fun and unique place where kids can learn more about the ocean and its creatures- even touching a horseshoe crab! Staff is available at all times to guide visitors through the program and explain the various exhibits found here.
When you're finished exploring the underwater galleries here, stop by the gift shop at Cargo Hold or, if your group is hungry, the Feeding Frenzy.
This site is open seven days a week, year round.
