Marble Springs Historic Site Halloween Event in Knoxville, TN

Marble Springs is an important historic site located in Knoxville. Surrounded by nature with the Smokey Mountains as a backdrop this area served as home to Tennessee's first governor, John Sevier.

Today, guests to Marble Springs are able to explore restored buildings dating back to the 1700s using period appropriate material. Restoration did not begin on the site until the 1940s but it wasn't until the 1960s that restoration really got into full swing. By using original plans as a guide, buildings that were demolished over the years since Sevier's time were replaced and rooms refurnished with careful attention to detail.

A living breathing museum, Marble Springs is a favorite for history buffs and tourists curious to see what life was like before the internet, before cars, and when the country was just in its infancy.

Marble Springs plays hosts to several events and workshops throughout the year. Soap making, basket weaving, a crafts fair, and other events allow visitors to the historic site to interact and explore daily happenings of those who once lived here.

There are a few seasonal events like the Halloween Event that proves to be a constant favorite with guests. The Halloween Event is usually held on the 25th of October and includes a number of events. The event starts around 8:00 p.m. though it is advised to get there a bit early. Guests enjoy the chance to gather at Marble Springs to hear tales and stories told by knowledgeable experts.

Marble Springs is a family friendly area though parents should use their best judgment if they plan to bring small children to the Halloween event. Overall, the event promises to provide an entertaining evening.
