The Ole Smoky Hoedown Show in Pigeon Forge, TN

Hee Haw! Fans of that classic down home television show will not want to miss a stop at the Ole Smoky Hoedown, one of the funniest attractions in the Smoky Mountains.

The Ole Smoky Hoedown is the brainchild of legendary comic clown Elwood Smooch. Hee Haw fans (and who isn't?) will know him as Billy Baker, a cornfield regular, on that classic television show. What many don't know is the Smooch was also a clown for the famed Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus!

Smooch is a multi-talented singer, dancer and physical comedian. He has created this original, award-winning musical so that true family entertainment can sing in Smoky Mountains. The Ole Smoky Hoedown is full of hayseed hilarity and rollicking family fun. In the production Smooch is a multi-character rubber-faced, baggy-pants comedian. He has become a hero to all who come to see him work his comic magic. Unlike his earlier circus and television outings in The Ole Smoky Hoedown he sings too! Haven't you always wanted to hear a clown sing? Smooch is the owner, producer, director and writer of The Ole Smoky Hoedown.

"It is simply a great show," said the Tennessee Star Journal, "It has dancing, singing, and comedy but it is the heart that gets people to come back. If you haven't seen it yet, you must. You won't regret it."

The real star of the show is "Shakes", Smooch's beloved little Chihuahua. Shakes is more than the mascot of the Ole Smoky Hoedown, he's been on the stage of the show since before he was born. His mother, "Cricket", used to star in the show and worked right up to her delivery!

When not on stage you can meet "Shakes" around the Box Office. At night, "Shakes" helps herd performers into the theatre. When the show kicks off you can see him in his bed beside Elwood Smooch's old performing theatrical trunk waiting for his time in the spotlight. He knows when it's time to perform and lights up when he gets his chance to bring the house down with laughter. "Shakes" was born on Halloween night in 1997.

So come on down! Don't you want to split your sides laughing to the all-American comedy of Smooch and Shakes?
