Get A Bird's Eye View from the Gatlinburg Space Needle
Large space for receptions, parties, anniversaries and business meetings
Rising 407 feet above the city, the Gatlinburg Space Needle is a unique and historic landmark on the horizon. This tower provides a dazzling birds-eye view of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains, as well as fun for the whole family at its 20,000-square-foot family fun center. The first thing you'll want to do at the Space Needle is to board a 20-person elevator for a ride to the observation deck 342 feet above the ground. From here, you can see the grandeur of the scenic Smokies, as well as the whole city of Gatlinburg. Telescopes allow visitors to zoom in on landmarks, buildings and people below. Views from the 250-person observation deck truly provide a new perspective on Gatlinburg and the surrounding area, either by day or night. After a trip to the observation deck, journey down below the needle to the huge entertainment area. Take a ride on the Max Flight Roller Coaster, a virtual reality ride that simulates a 360-degree upside down flip as well as plunges and spirals. Then get your friends together and play a game of Laser Tag -- battle in teams or be a hero among villains as you enjoy this modern-day version of tag. At the Space Needle Arcade, visitors delight in both traditional and the cutting edge video games, skeeball, basketball, pool tables, a punching bag, air hockey and pinball. There are even a kid-sized skeeball and whack-a-mole game for children. After you've played Pac Man, won a few rounds of air hockey and bowled your best at skeeball, take your tickets to the large redemption center, where you'll choose a souvenir from a wide variety of prizes. After games, it's time to visit the Old Time Photo Shop. Have you always wanted to be a tough cowboy in a ten-gallon hat, a quick outlaw, or a fancy saloon girl? This is your chance to dress up like your favorite Old West characters and then take home a souvenir photo to show your friends at home. As if the Space Needle observation tower, Arcade and Old Time Photos weren't enough fun, Gatlinburg Space Needle also provides an indoor Pro Mini Golf Course. Whether it's raining or shining, daylight or dark, this is the place to enjoy challenging and unique putt-putt golf, and brush up on your short game at the same time. The Gatlinburg Space Needle has been a landmark in Gatlinburg since 1970, and continues to amaze visitors with its spectacular view, as well as numerous family fun options. For a comfortable and convenient stay in Gatlinburg, consider either the Bon Air Lodge or the Quality Inn Creekside, both less than a quarter mile from the Space Needle. You won't go wrong with either of these downtown Gatlinburg hotels, just steps from the Gatlinburg Space Needle. |
