Dollywood features a variety of rides, including thrill, water, family and children's rides. This is a picture of Daredevil Falls, a thrill ride and boat expedition ending with a 60-foot drop.

With 300 performances across five stages, the only real competition the musicians will have is with the savory BBQ at the BBQ & Bluegrass festival at Dollywood this year. This years festival takes place in September. Headlining in the new season is a set of bluegrass legends that are sure to keep your heart racing with their explosive sound. Here's a quick look at what to expect from this year's hottest music and food festival.

Performers
Each year it seems like bluegrass music is getting better and better, and at Dollywood it is no different. Performers just keep lining up for this incredible festival, and headlining so far is Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Rhonda Vincent, Cherryholmes, and more! Dollywood travelers are definitely looking forward to these award winning performances.

Awards
Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder have won 12 Grammy Awards, including the Best Bluegrass Album. Cherryholmes is one of the hardest working family bands in bluegrass today, and have just recently the SPBGMA Entertaining Group of the Year and Banjo Performer of the Year (Cia Cherryholmes) awards. This year Rhonda Vincent has won Bluegrass Album of the Year, Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.

Barbecue
Delicious food so hot you might just have to cool off at Dollywood's Splash Country will be available throughout the festival. Barbecue headquarters is planned to be situated at Market Square, where you can enjoy savory ribs by the slab and more. If beef and pork isn't your cup of tea, no worries, there will be plenty of barbequed chicken to go around.

Nation's Best
Visiting chefs from around the nation are going to be on hand to supply the best baked beans, coleslaw, and grilled vegetables you have ever seen. Not to mention supplying helpful demonstrations and advice on barbecuing and grilling in general. So be sure to remember to take time out of your busy schedule of Great China Circus and RainForest Adventures to learn a few things. You'll know it was worth it once you start impressing guests at the next dinner party.

Dollywood
Dollywood is a nice relaxing themepark without all the crowds that goes with it. We went during off season and it was great, hardly any lines at all. I've been before and will probably go again lots of times. Dollywood is about 30 percent Shows, 30 percent crafts and shops, and 40 percent Rides, so be prepared to spend some money if you like shopping.
