Parrot Mountain & Tropical Bird Sanctuary

You may think there's no way to see the rainforest in the heart of the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, but Parrot Mountain & Tropical Bird Sanctuary is doing its part to bring a little piece of the rainforest to the USA! Parrot Mountain & Tropical Bird Sanctuary is dedicated to preserving and protecting the avian species of the rainforest in the hopes of preventing the extinctions of different species. At Parrot Mountain & Tropical Bird Sanctuary, you'll stroll along pathways through lush gardens. In the Lory Aviary, you'll see Australian and Indonesian lorikeets flying all around you -- they'll even drink nectar right out of your hand!

Kids will love the special petting zoo, where they can pet baby birds and watch them being hand-fed. You can even take a Parrot Mountain bird home with you, if there are any available. Find that perfect souvenir in the unique home and garden gift shop and have your picture taken with a big, beautiful Macaw perched on your shoulder! You'll fall in love with this tropical, exotic environment and its inhabitants!
