Now a cultural center and gathering place, the Old Center Cultural Center in Galveston started life as Texas' first African American high school.
Founded in 1885 as Texas' first African American high school, Old Central Cultural Center is now preserved, used as a museum and activity center.
It's new owners regularly host events that encourage diversity, and to teach about cultures that might otherwise not be seen and celebrated.
