Moody Gardens: Galveston Island's Therapeutic Entertainment
The Galveston area is one of fun, entertainment, and historic significance. Moody Gardens, which started out in 1983 as a humble therapeutic riding program, has grown into a massive recreation and educational tourist attraction.
The many opportunities for enjoyment at Moody Gardens are essentially divided among three pyramids: Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, and Discovery Pyramid. The Aquarium Pyramid area of Moody Gardens features large pools of aquatic and terrestrial life from various parts of the world, including the Antarctic. The Rainforest Pyramid is an area 10-stories high that exhibits some of the world's most interesting rainforest animals. The Rainforest Pyramid includes an environment of rolling waterfalls and enormous trees. The Discovery Pyramid features scientific and astral exhibits. The Discovery Pyramid is also the home of four extraordinary theatres: Ridefilm, IMAX, 4D, and 3D.
Of the two million visitors who visit Moody Gardens yearly, many look forward to a ride on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat that takes passengers on a cruise along Palm Beach. This sandy white beach includes lagoons with translucent waters and an arresting landscape.
Another popular visitor attraction at Moody Gardens is the Education Department. The Education Department offers several programs to inspire an interest in nature in both children and adults.
Moody Gardens is a great venue for special occasions and its staff assists visitors with making their events unforgettable. Birthday celebrations, kids camps, sleepovers, and private meetings are just some of the events that the staff at Moody Gardens often helps to organize.
The managers of Moody Gardens have not lost sight of the entertainment center's foundation. Hope Therapy, a rehabilitative center that offers a program for developing a variety of skills and abilities in disabled individuals, continues the therapeutic basis on which Moody Gardens was built.
