The Dragonfly Gallery, featuring historic and contemporary works, is located in the East End district of historic Galveston. It is owned by local resident Leta Middleton Higgins. The gallery is a 'treasure trove' of gifts, collectibles, and artwork to suit different tastes, budgets, and the special person in your life.
Gift ranges include floral arrangements, candles and candle holders, luxury handmade soaps and toiletries, and decorative tiles. For children and infants the Gallery stocks Madame Alexander dolls, and vintage toys, beautiful baby clothing, and cot accessories.
The Gallery features art work by contemporary artists from in and around Galveston, such as Yvonne Macik-Hill, Buffalo Customs, Candie Lepo and Rene Wiley. Examples of their work exhibited at the gallery include prints, cards, and some originals, of the Islands' historic buildings and landscapes, still life paintings, and the 'Kustom Kitties' range of whimsical cat pictures and paintings.
The Gallery has a selection of period furniture and Tiffany-style lamps, and a lovely display of costume and vintage jewelery with an array of bangles, necklaces, brooches and earrings to chose from.
For the collector in mind the Gallery has a range of collectibles such as Polish pottery sets featuring large plates, teapots and dishes in attractive designs, ornaments and angels, and and dolls house miniatures. If you're a postcard collector hunt thru the vintage postcard selection for cards depicting scenes from days gone by in Galveston, its beachfront and historic buildings.
The Gallery is open Monday thru Saturday 10.00am-5.00pm and Sunday 11.00am-3.00pm. All major credit cards are accepted.
