Buchanan Gallery in Galveston, TX, which is owned and operated by Kathryn Buchanan, is an art gallery that has work of many artists on display. The gallery is open Thursday through Monday and by appointment on the other days (Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday).
Some of artist that have their work on display are Diane Arnold, Penney Lemon, Bill Frazier, Bobbye Bennet and Steven DaLuz among many more.
Diane Arnold, very popular at Buchanan Gallery, has a huge collection of oil paintings on copper that is part of a complete series called the Garden of Nature. They give the impression of looking like plants, but are really images of the consciousness that Nature supplies us with. Diane's work is all oval, symbolic of the way ancient cultures worked.
Bill Frazier has two types of work that he has on display. His collages and drawings both seem to be in the style of stick people. His Forest Fragment collection is very popular and constantly on display.
Penney Lemon has her "raven collection", which is her attempt at giving the audience a feel of what the raven is about almost appearing to hear the raven talk.
Buchanan Gallery has many works of art that are for resale as well as for display. There is a new gallery that is still underway, with hopes to be open soon. Buchanan has many kinds of contemporary art as well as a variety of media styles and sculptures. Established artists as well as new young talent have their work on display at Buchanan.
