The Everglades Day Safari in Fort Myers, Florida is based off of the corner of Gladiolus and US 41. The Safari departs each day in the morning, generally prior to 8am and returns about 5 to 6 in the evening. Those taking the tour are sure to see many interesting, intimidating and marvelous animals and wilderness surrounding them. This day long adventure should be booked in advance because it can be a popular outing that many will remember for the rest of their life.
The Everglades Day Safari allows visitors to come very close to much of the Florida wilderness, while you are completely safe and secure on the boat. The boat will take a group of passengers out into the Everglades and lead the group through various locations. These guides are experts in the wilderness and can offer excellent tour information along the way. Do ask questions. A variety of boats are used including airboats and riverboats. There is also a walking tour and a van based tour that can be taken. The cost for the trip will include your lunch, which often will include a specialty meal such as one with alligator in it.
It is essential to book your safari adventure ahead of time whenever possible. You will also need to make payment arrangements ahead of time. The cost currently is about $100 for adults and $90 for seniors. Children under the age of 12 are about $80. Those that will take the adventure should be able to walk comfortably and should dress comfortably as well. The trip is a long one for some children, but a half day safari may be a better choice for those that are younger or not willing to spend all day out.
