Located within the very heart of Downtown Fort Myers, the Centennial Park is spread over 10 acres of scenic grounds on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. A simple, unassuming park, you can stop by for a leisurely afternoon of fresh air and sunshine with the family or even saunter though the picturesque grounds between meetings.
You can carry along a basket to picnic at the park, or simply head for the river walk for a fresh invigorating stroll. You can even sit back and watch the sun go down on the numerous benches that dot the park, or indulge in a spot of volleyball at the courts. Children are granted a special handicap-accessible play area where they can gambol in carefree abandon. The park also holds memorials to Civil War Veterans and statues of legendary figures like Edison, Ford and Firestone.
The park also hosts a number of concerts, craft shows and other events throughout the year. The Downtown Farmers' meet, which is held on Thursdays between 7 am and 3 pm, draws visitors from all over the region. You can even arrange to host your private party or gathering in the Centennial Park grounds. With metered parking in front of the park and several lots and parking garages that surround it, there's no dearth of parking spaces. The Centennial Park welcomes visitors from 8 am to 8 pm everyday.
