Winter in Fort Myers, FL

The ideal time of year to visit Ft. Myers is during the winter, when daily highs are between 74 and 76 degrees, and overnight lows are in the mid-50s. Not only are temperatures pleasant during December, January and February, but this is also the driest time of year, and features the highest number of sunny days. Many visitors plan a winter time visit to Ft. Myers as an escape from less desirable winter weather in other places. This is a great time of year to go golfing, to photograph the Thomas Edison Bridge, or to pay a visit to the "sea cows" at Manatee World.

Spring in Fort Myers, FL

Spring brings slightly warmer daytime temperatures, while humidity remains relatively low compared to other months of the year. March has average daily highs around 79 degrees, while April and May feature slightly warmer daytime highs in the mid- to upper-80s. Lows are in the upper 50s and low 60s. Spring is also a relatively sunny time of year, so many visitors enjoy visiting nearby state parks and beaches, as well as parks and historic landmarks.

May through September brings the rainy season, and along with it, increasing chances for a hurricane, tropical storm or windy weather. September has the highest chances for tropical weather, and also receives about 8 inches of rain. The rains taper during October and November, and the percentage of sunny days increases. November only receives about 1.5 inches of rain. Visitors during summer and early fall need to be prepared for rain and wind, so umbrellas, rain jackets and waterproof or water resistant shoes are recommended.

Ft. Myers' average annual high temperature is 84 degrees, and the annual average low is 64 degrees, making this southern Florida city a great tropical getaway. Though morning humidity is fairly high (88 to 91%), relative humidity levels usually drop to 50% or 60% by afternoon. This balmy, tropical climate makes Ft.
