Held every year during Fleet Week, the McDonald's Air and Sea Show is a two-day military extravaganza that offers exciting family-oriented activities.
All festivities are free and open to the public, including the initial Take Off Party which features a concert and fireworks display. Air shows include performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, while sea shows feature a U.S.C.G. Rescue Demonstration. Ships and aircraft are also displayed, including missile destroyers, attack submarines, stealth bombers, and F-18 Hornets.
The most popular event is the Amphibious Assault, a live-action demonstration in which the Marine Corps and the Navy launch a joint attack on the Fort Lauderdale beach from an amphibious assault ship. The Display Village also offers interactive exhibits and activities throughout the weekend.
