From their modest beginnings as a group of musicians who would perform barely a couple of times a year to an opulent 76-member outfit which now presents over 275 concerts, the Phoenix Symphony has indeed traversed a long way.
Today, this group has also holds the distinction of being the only professional full-time orchestra in Arizona, which delves in genres as diverse as the Classics, Symphony Pops, Chamber of Orchestra as well as Family Offerings, enthralling enthusiasts, while also introducing novices to their first experience in music. The Phoenix Symphony hosts their performances at the Symphony Hall, Mesa Arts Center, Orpheum Theatre, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and the Dodge Theatre besides an array of other establishments in the region.
For students aspiring to hone their musical skills, the Phoenix Symphony also conducts a number of educational programs of which, one of the most noteworthy is 'Symphony For Schools'. These 45-minute long programs inculcate young minds with the finer nuances of symphony, while also spreading an awareness and appreciation for music in all its variety. Other interactive programs include the 'Musical Scavenger Hunt' and 'Let's Dance', both of which are directed at making the musical experience entertaining and captivating for first-timers.
Tickets can be bought online, at the venue or over the telephone. Tickets are non-refundable and exchanges, if any, need to be made at least 4 hours before the performance.
