Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, Arizona located on North Gemini Road is a medium size park ideal for those looking for a place to rest and to have some fun. The part offers some picnicking facilities including a ramada that is about 24 feet by 20 feet. Within there is room for about 25 to 30 people. There are three, 8 foot handicap accessible picnic tables here as well as one standard 8 foot table. Unfortunately, only picnic baskets and coolers can be brought. The surrounding area offers too much danger of fire and therefore barbecue grills or other types of portable fire are not allowable within the park. You can rent out the ramada for a small fee of about five dollars through the local parks commission.
The park itself is a great one. There are over 215 acres of forest, brush, and open fields. In the background are the beautiful mountains. There are portable restrooms located right in the park. Those that visit have the ability to access the national forest trails that run through and around the park. This includes a two mile trail loop that takes you around the park and back towards the picnicking area.
The best features of Buffalo Park include the landscape's view. Everywhere you turn there is a running hill or a mountain in the distance. There are plenty of amazing trees and plants surrounding you as well as a large amount of animals roaming the area. The park system does ask that you clean up after, leaving no debris or food particles behind in an effort to help protect the wildlife.
