The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra made its debut on the evening of April 11, 1899 at the Babbitt's Opera House in downtown Flagstaff. The concert, which was reported to be a great success, is now counted as a major milestone in Flagstaff's cultural history.
The modern Flagstone Symphony Orchestra is now headed by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Randall Craig Fleischer. Nationally known as the premier regional symphony, the orchestra has been continually growing, both in terms of artistic achievement and its scintillating performances, ever since its inception. The orchestra organizes seven concerts from September through April at the Ardery Auditorium, with an additional Young People's Concerts for children. Dedicated to the mission of supporting and maintaining a symphony orchestra while enriching the cultural life of the residents of northern Arizona, the 85 member strong orchestra enthralls audiences with 'Best of Pop' and 'Great Classics' recitals.
The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra also strives to provide innovative programs with the intent inculcating music education to youth across northern Arizona. The education programs are based on latest child development research and aim to offer children an early introduction to music. Ticket prices range from $13 to $27, depending on the performance you want to catch. You can call for season tickets or purchase them via ticketmaster. Single tickets are available only via the website or walk-ins. For further information, you can email info@flagstaffsymphony.org or check their website at http://www.flagstaffsymphony.org.
