Annex Park located in Fernie, British Columbia is an ideal, beautiful park located in one of the most historic towns throughout the province. The entire area is a large, green field that provides plenty of room for sporting activities, family picnics, and just a day outside. Those that have walked through Annex Park say that it is a beautiful way to end the day or to start the morning. It is located along the Elk River, which travels throughout the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Fernie is a larger town that offers many historic areas especially in its downtown area. Annex Park is located very near to the city. It features a pond that often can have ducks floating along. There are also open grass fields for use as well as horseshoe pits. There are barbeque pits located throughout the area as well, though it is highly encouraged that guests that picnic and cook here remove all remnants to help protect the wildlife. The trees surrounding the park provide the perfect shade in the afternoon and offer a backdrop of beauty. There are also walking trails located throughout Fernie and Annex Park that you can take. These will take you throughout the region if you would like. Cedar Lodge, a popular tourist location is just a short ten minute walk from Fernie.
