Thorncrown Chapel is a truly unique religious structure nestled in the Ozark woods, providing a refreshing place of worship and amazing architectural sight. The chapel stands forty-eight feet tall and offers an open atmosphere feeling. The structure is made of stone, the beams of wood and the walls are comprised of 425 windows equaling over 6,000 square feet of glass.
The chapel opened in 1980 and has been honored with a variety of awards. The American Institute of Architecture's Design of the Year Award for 1981 and the American Institute of Architecture's Design of the Decade Award for the 1980's are just a couple of accolades the chapel has been awarded. To this day Thorncrown still holds services. Services are typically held every Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m., April through the third week of December.
