Table Rock Lake is a magnificent artificial lake that was built by the US army in 1958. Since then the area has become one of the main attractions and vacation spots for thousands of people each year and with the range of activities available it is not hard to see why. The lake has over 800 miles of shoreline with beautiful scenery all around and it is easy to find yourself in the shadows of the Ozark Mountains one day and in the open fields and bright sunshine the next.
There are 13 campsites dotted around the shoreline, each run and maintained by a Corps of Engineers from the US army and from here visitors can go boating, fishing and scuba diving the year through. The Spring months are particularly good for fishing with bass, catfish and crappie being available amongst other breeds. If camping is not for you then there is also around 100 resorts to choose from in the near vicinity and again these resorts offer a range of water activities for patrons.
The shoreline also has a number of marinas where you can rent a private boat for a day trip, moor your own boat while you explore the area or alternatively enjoy a commercial cruise or a short boat ride. The Table Rock Lake has a few cruise liners that travel around the shoreline over the space of a week and this is for many the perfect way to get the most out of the area. Whether you plan to stay for a single day or for a vacation the Table Rock Lake provides new delights everyday, especially if you're a lover of watersports and beautiful scenery.
