The Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend which first began as a picnic in 1991 with an attendance of just 33 corvettes from Northwestern Arkansans, Springfield Missouri and Kansas City, is now known across the country as a can't miss for anyone who owns a Corvette. The location of the Corvette Weekend was later moved to Pine Mountain Square to accommodate the soaring popularity of the event which now entails the attendance of over a thousand Corvettes.
Scheduled to take place on the first weekend of October when the autumn Arkansas scenery is at its most beautiful and the weather at its most pleasant, the Corvette weekend has gained immense popularity for those looking for a car event without the pitfalls of bitter competition and months of preparation. What you can expect to find here instead, is a unique opportunity to unwind and have fun with hundreds of fellow Corvette fans. You don't have to be an owner of a Corvette to qualify as a participant - all you need is the enthusiasm and goodwill that the event is famed for.
There are a variety of unique events that are organized from Thursday through Sunday morning. The weekend kicks off with a Short Course Autocross, which is a great opportunity for all licensed Corvette enthusiasts to display their skills. Friday morning sees the Fuel Economy Run which lasts for two hours and approximately 100 miles. You can also attend seminars about common problems faced by Corvette owners, gather tips on Corvette Racing as well as National Corvette Museum updates and even sign up for the Ponca valley elk-viewing tour. The event breaks up on Sunday morning with a Departing get-together which serves free donuts and drinks. The departing caravan guides you to the Pea Ridge National Military Park which is a 4,300 acre battlefield which is remembered as the site of the 1962 battle that saved Missouri for the Union.
One of the most unique characteristics of this weekend is that it is organized completely by volunteers and is a non-profit, non-commercial event. The entire weekend is planned and implemented by participating Corvette Clubs.
