Eureka Springs bears a long history of natural beauty and heritage that draws visitors to this region form the world over. Of all the natural wonders that bring forth a sigh of wonderment and disbelief, the Natural Bridge and Pivot Rock are probably the most spectacular.
These two unique rock formations are rumored to be as old as the earth itself. Apparently formed in the absence of any water bodies that run either through them or around them, these rocks have never ceased to amaze visitors to Eureka Springs as well as the locals of this region. The Natural Bridge is a formation that looks like just what it's called... a natural bridge! The base of this rock appears to have been carved out so that it bears a gouge that gives it its name. The Pivot Rock is the largest free standing rock formation in the world. About 7 feet high, the base of this rock measures only 10 inches in diameter, while the top spreads out to a girth of10 feet. The rock looks like a huge top that is balanced precariously on a slender base... and visitors have often wondered at the fact that it hasn't even wobbled ever since its discovery about a century ago.
You can even go hiking at the scenic trails that spread across this region. This spot is, however, not wheelchair or disabled friendly. You can visit these natural marvels that have been featured in Ripley's Believe it or Not at a cost of only $3 per head... not a bad price to pay to experience a memory that will last you a life-time!
