Getting Around Eureka Springs

In Greek, "Eureka" means, "I have found it," and visitors will agree that Eureka Springs is not only easy to FIND, but easy to NAVIGATE.

ARRIVING IN EUREKA SPRINGS:

By Air
For commercial flights, visitors may fly into Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (airport code: XNA) in Bentonville, AR, just 50 miles Southwest of Eureka Springs. For charter flights, the Carroll County Airport provides a second option; it is located just 10 miles east of Eureka Springs, and features rental cars.

By Car
Eureka Springs is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 62 and Arkansas State Highway 23. U.S. Highway 71 is 30 miles west; Interstate 44 is 80 miles north, and Interstate 40 is 80 miles south.

GETTING AROUND TOWN:

On Foot
Eureka Springs is known as "one of the nation's most walkable cities." The town features plenty of sidewalks along interesting and scenic routes, providing a great way to experience the United States' only city with its entire downtown on the National Register of Historic Places.

Public Transportation
The Eureka Springs Trolley runs throughout town, and fares are $4.00 for an all-day adult pass, or $2.00 for a one-ride pass. Children ages 7 through 11 ride for $1.00, while those 6 and under ride free. Eureka Springs also offers a narrated Tram Tour through the Historic District from March through October (and with limited tour times during November and December). Fares are $8.50 for adults and $4.00 for children. The Historic Tram Tour departs from the Visitor Information Center on Highway 62 West.

By Car
While rental cars provide a sense of freedom and flexibility during vacation time, many travelers stick to public transportation and foot tours in Eureka Springs. The historic roads are narrow and winding, and fee parking is limited. Travelers with oversized RVs often have a difficult time navigating the small downtown area, so motorhomes and large trailers are better left at the Visitor Information Center.
