West Edmonton Mall: A Shopping Mecca
With close to 1,000 stores and a host of entertainment sources, West Edmonton Mall is anything but your typical shopping mall. The shopping extravaganza is considered the largest shopping mall in Canada and third in the world. More than 28 million people from all over the world visit Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to experience West Edmonton Mall. Considering the population of Edmonton is just under one million, it's easy to understand why some refer to the mall as one of the world's many wonders.

One attraction of West Edmonton Mall that is a hit with the younger crowd is Galaxyland, the mall's indoor amusement park. Galaxyland has an assortment of rides, including a tower ride called Space Shot and the triple loop roller coaster called Mindbender. These rides are for thrill seekers. In addition to the seven thrill rides, there are also eight rides for beginners and nine rides for those that are middle of the road. Other attractions at West Edmonton Mall include a waterpark, an 18-hole miniature golf course, several theatres, a lake, an ice rink, a recreational center, and much more.
There are so many attractions to view at West Edmonton Mall that you can easily miss something if you go it alone. The mall offers a 45-minute tour for groups consisting of more than 11 people. People who visit the mall from places outside of West Edmonton, they are presented with a VIP pin that entitles them to discounts to certain stores in the mall.
