The Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Alberta Canada provides for the guest to have an understanding of what their heritage both on the natural and cultural level is.& The mission of the museum is to preserve as well as educate about this heritage that all Albertans have. The Royal Alberta Museum is a one of a kind location. It has the largest public collection of early fur trade artifacts from the area. It also has the largest collection of mounted birds within the country. There are over ten million objects within its collection ranging widely from the life sciences, to human history, to earth science and much more. Some of its largest artifacts can not even be housed within and are stored in a warehouse that is about 3720 square meters!
Visitors will be able to explore as a self guided tour, but guided tours can also be booked. The Bug Room is one exhibit that is well known and is one of a kind. It features live invertebrate in a gallery like fashion. The museum is dedicated to providing educational services to all ages, including younger children.
Exhibits change often. There are 13 curatorial programs working to help design and present the collections to the public. Visitors are able to visit the museum shop after they have toured it, as well as the museum café for something to eat. Group tour information is available.
