While the current status of the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, might be a bit "up in the air" due to structural and roofing problems, the site has long been a popular stop for history buffs and others with special interests. Through the years, as the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre became a public space, many have selected this site for wedding activities. Wedding parties from 20 to 1000 can be accommodated in the beautiful setting.
Other tenants of the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre have been: the Alberta Genealogical Society, a non-profit agency formed in 1973 to focus on the genealogy and research in the province of Alberta; the Telephone Historical Centre, a public exhibit opened in 1987.
Among the exhibits of interest to military and history enthusiasts are uniforms of the Home Guard, equipment and uniforms from the Women's Army Corps, and numerous rifles, pistols, helmets and uniforms from world wars.
