Westview Orchards and Cider Mill located in Romeo Michigan, just outside of Detroit offers a variety of farm activities and experiences for the young and the old.& This farm spans over 188 acres and has been in the family for some 6 generations. Founded in 1813 by Michael Bowerman, the location started with just a small garden and later an orchard and grew as the years progressed. Over time, the orchard was able to produce enough fruit to be driven by horse and wagon to Port Huron to be sold. Over time, it grew into a large farm, all run by family members.
There is quite a bit to do on this farm today as it is as much a place for play and good food as it is for raising animals and tending to produce. Visitors can purchase a variety of vegetables and fruits from the farm market located on the premise. Taste fresh apple cider that is produced on one of the most advanced cider mills in the area. K's Kitchen Bakery is also available for good confections of all sorts.
Children can enjoy the petting farm here as well as race through the five plus acre corn maze in the early fall. Visitors can pick and bag their own apples and later in the season pumpkins. Enjoy a stroll through the orchard or hop on board for a wagon ride throughout the trees and over the landscape.
Visit Westview Orchard and Cider Mill during the spring through the fall. They offer contests and various events all year round and host birthday parties as well as company outings. Schools or other organizations can schedule tours of the farm.
