The Parade Company located in Detroit, Michigan is the company that is responsible for making Detroit's yearly Thanksgiving Day parade happen.& This not for profit company is part of the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation. Located on Mt. Elliott in Detroit, the location is home to some of the most imaginative people in the city.
The Parade Company is the working headquarters of the parades and other Thanksgiving themed events that are hosted throughout the state. Yet, guests are welcome to come in and see how everything is done.
Visitors to The Parade Company can enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the location. They can enjoy a look into the studio where the America's Thanksgiving Parade is planned and designed. There are many large and amazing Papier-Mache heads and floats to explore, some of them dating back to the mid 1900's. You can meet with some of the artists that pull it all together. There are also a handful of fun characters to meet when you come including Hansel and Gretel, Clownie, and Mother Goose. Children of all ages can enjoy "Paradeland" and all of the activities that there are to do here.
Tours are a low cost and are available for groups of ten people or more. Arrangements should be made ahead of time. Groups from school organizations and Scouts are welcome at prearranged times.
