The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan is a prime entertainment facility for the city. It provides a variety of sports and live music events as well as a variety of other large scale events throughout the year. It opened in 1988 and has since been most widely known as the home of the National Basketball Associations Detroit Pistons team. The Palace of Auburn Hills, more commonly known simply as The Palace, is an indoor arena and as the second largest in the NBA with a seating capacity for basketball of 22,076. For end stage concerts and center stage concerts, it holds even more. In addition, the arena offers 180 luxury suites within it, which was an incredible number when the location first opened. An additional five, underground suites that are some 450 square feet each are available to be rented as are eight more that are at arena level.
