Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan is the home to Detroit's National League Football Team, the Detroit Lions. It is located downtown on Brush Street. While its main use is for professional football, it is also used for other sports when necessary or when it is booked out for an event.
This $500 million field is one that can be used for other events a well including conventions, tradeshows and concerts on a grand scale. It was completed in August of 2002 after 32 months in the works. Funding for the stadium's design and construction was from public funds including the City of Detroit itself and other private institutions. The stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000 people and has both lower and upper bowl seating that are 19 inches. There are 132 suites available to be rented. Suites can hold an additional 8 to 30 guests to the park each. Each of the suites offers restaurant quality foods that are catered.
Ford Field also offers club seats. There are 8600 of them available. There are 7 gate entrances to the stadium, 43 men and 49 women's restrooms as well as 9 ATMS located throughout. There are 56 permanent concessions stands throughout the stadium with another 39 portable units that are used. The press box is on level 7 of the stadium and seats an additional 262 people.
Ford Field itself is made from FieldTurf and has an area of 97,000 square feet. There are endzone video boards that are 27 feet by 96 feet.
