Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida provides a range of services to those that visit this public park.& The beaches are a very beautiful and clean white sand, which is one of the features that this park is known for. The park itself encompasses some 6,000 feet of natural shoreline. Most of the park is scenic, natural and historic in nature. This beach is a Gulf of Mexico ideal, with its green waters splashing the shore.
Those that visit the beach will find that it includes scrub oaks, dune rosemary and sand pines throughout. For those that want to head onto the beach, you can do that by going down one of the boardwalks that allow for it. Swimming is a common family favorite here. Sun bathing and fishing are also allowable activities. For those hosting a picnic, there are two large pavilions that provide tables and grills for cooking (do bring your own charcoal.) A nature trail takes guests around the park. There is a large playground for smaller children located right off the edge of these trails.
Pets are welcome in the park. Guests will be able to see the diverse eco system in the coastal dune area as they walk along the path.
Visitors may want to consider camping at the location where there are 60 campsites that can be used. There are electric as well as water hookups here. There are also heated and air conditioned bathhouses for your use. The campground is located a bit away from the park, but there is another beach area as well as another playground within the campground area.
