Gator Beach in Destin, Florida is an enjoyable, educational outing for children of all ages.& This location was built to help educate people about alligators and other similar creatures found in the wild in Florida. The goal is to help them to understand the creatures so that they are able to make wise decisions about the animals if they come into contact with them later in life.
Guests to Gator Beach are often groups of school children. Those that are from an organization or school can spend the day with educational guides that help them to learn about the animals. Through careful guidance, students are able to interact with the animals in several ways. The students are able to touch a gator. This is usually a small animal that has its mouth securely taped shut. Later in the tour, the children are able to feed the alligators as well. By interacting with them, they learn about the lifestyle and about their habitat.
Gator Beach is located at Fudpucker's Restaurant. Guests can have their photo taken with a live alligator. Also, look for Mellow Yellow who is a very rare yellow alligator. Guests of all ages are welcome to stroll through the exhibits that are educational and compare alligators to crocodiles. Gator Beach is a donor to the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge that works in the local area to provide re-habitating injured wildlife.
