Eden Gardens State Park in Destin, Florida is more than a simple park.& The park offers a unique history and an ideal picturesque setting that people have come to love over time.
The park is situated on County Road 395. It was once the home of William Henry Wesley who was widely known throughout the area when he lived in the late 1800's for being a lumber baron. The home was built in 1898 and provides a very interesting look at the architecture and design of buildings and homes of the time period. The building itself is a southern style mansion. Surrounding it are amazing gardens and beautiful, large and old oak trees. These original gardens and trees are still on the property. You will be able to see them all.
Those that visit the Eden Gardens State Park will be able to enjoy the location in the way that suits them. Many come with a picnic and play a game of catch on a summer's day. You can also come to tour the grounds of the mansion, both inside and out. Guides tours are available throughout the year. All tell the stories about the people that lived there as well as the historical importance of the area. The gardens are maintained as they once stood. The home is an important historical element of the community.
