Founded on the 1st of January, 2000, the Sound of the Rockies is a talented a cappella men's chorus which is based in Denver Colorado. The current Rocky Mountain District Champion chorus, the fraternity aims to provide visitors the opportunity to listen to the renderings of renowned choruses, while also promoting upcoming singers through training and recognition.
Here, you can visit the rehearsals and, either simply enjoy the music, or sing along with the chorus. The fraternity does not require you to be a trained singer or even know how to read music. You can learn the songs through learning MP3 files which the fraternity provides you with.
The Sound of the Rockies also hosts a number of events throughout the year, where nationally recognized choruses are invited for your listening pleasure. These performances include both competition songs as well as other popular music selections. The Fraternity is also scheduled to host the Barbershop Harmony Society Convention and Competition. The range of music varies from Barbershop and Broadway to Gospel and Patriotic.
The Sound of the Rockies features a number of award-winning quartets like Storm Front Quartet, the Ignition Quartet and the popular Nexus Quartet. You can even register with the fraternity as a member, irrespective of your age or your past musical training. The current list of members includes four grand-father, father and son singers, besides a large number of college going singers and even members who are in the eighties.
