The Four Mile Historic Park is a 12 acre site on the banks of
Cherry Creek, which features Denver's oldest standing structure. the Four Mile House contains an array of informative exhibits which can be viewed on a number of guided tours.
The Four Mile House, first began as a wayside inn and tavern where travellers stopped on their way to Denver City. Today, this house features on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the most renowned historic museums in region. The exhibits are all themed to celebrate the life and contributions of the significant individuals from Colorado. The Four Mile Park conducts a number of activities to offer visitors an experience steeped in Colorado's rich history. School trips are conducted throughout the year at this site where children spend the day cooking over open fires, hatching plots to hunt for gold and indulging in host of activities that they would have had they been born a hundred and fifty years ago. The Senior Field Trips offer the community's retirees campfire victuals, music tours and story sessions that entertain while also educating the participants. An Encore Evening with Mark Twain is one of the most popular activities where you can enjoy an evening of stories and witticisms for $18 per person.
You can also host your child's birthday party at the Park with a costumed volunteer offering assistance to make your occasion a one-of-a-kind experience. You can also stop by at Halloween for an exciting two days of pumpkins, scarecrows and spooky music. You can also have the Four Mile Historic Park organize your private party or celebration at any of their picturesque venues.
Tours are conducted from 12 pm to 4 pm, Wednesday through Sunday in the months from October to March. From April to September, you can visit the Four Mile Historic Park between 12 pm and 4 pm, Wednesday to Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
