Children's Museum of Denver: A Paradise for the Young at Heart
In a general sense, a museum is responsible for preserving significant articles of the past for society to explore and understand. The variety of Children's Museums throughout the United States has an extended purpose of educating children through participation. The Children's Museum of Denver achieves this purpose in a way that both children and adults have fun while learning. There are more than 250,000 visitors to the museum every year—truly an indication that their services are appreciated.
The Children's Museum of Denver has existed since 1973 and has grown tremendously in the programs and services that it offers the community. What started out as a learning center confined to a school bus has now grown into eleven playscapes (suitable for both children and parents), daily learning events, and special programs designed to inspire the love of learning.
Teaching children is a job that falls on the shoulders of parents, teachers, and the community. Parents can obtain valuable information in the form of printed and online materials to assist in the mental and physical development of their children. Parents are also encouraged to participate with their children in the numerous educational playscapes and other activities.
The events that the Children's Museum of Denver sponsors vary each year. The museum leases its space for personal events, such as reunions, birthday parties (several packages available), and teaching trips. The maximum number of people that can attend any personal event is 500. The museum is more than happy to provide a tour of the facility.
