The Art District on Santa Fe in Denver, Colorado is a location dedicated to preserving art and a very art inspired community. This cultural area is one that promotes the highest level of art education and preservation, throughout the metropolitan area.
The Santa Fe Drive area is well known for its long history with art and art studios. The location saw an increase in the number of artists in these areas mainly because of the cost of renting property outside of this in various neighborhoods in Denver rose too quickly and too costly. In 2003, some 17 galleries, theatres, museums and other art inspired locations arrived on Santa Fe Drive. They bonded together to form the non profit organization named the Art District. Over the years, it has grown in size considerably. Recently, some 49 members on and around the Santa Fe Drive area are considered to be part of this elite group.
