The Chargers and Broncos will face off in a game with huge AFC West implications as the playoff race grows ever closer. The Broncos looked extremely strong the second half of last season, and as long as that dominance carries over into the new season they'll be the team to beat in the AFC West. The Broncos did lose last year's rusher Mike Anderson, but with their entire offensive line returning there should be plenty of room for whoever takes his place to run. Aside from that loss, the Broncos are coming back more or less in top form.
The Chargers lost their starting quarterback in Drew Brees, but with an offense that relies mainly on running back Ladainian Tomlinson this loss shouldn't effect them too badly. Their defense is solid, and with coach Marty Shottenheimer constantly riding them they'll only get tougher and better throughout the season. While the Broncos may be the team to beat in the AFC West, the Chargers may be just the team to do so.
