The Living Legends of Auto Racing Museum was founded in 1993 by a group of volunteer racing fans who wanted to preserve and promote Daytona's history of beach and stock car racing. Still completely run by volunteers and funded by fans, the Museum features exhibits that take visitors on a historical tour of the auto-racing scene from the racing pioneers of 1903 to the champions of the present. In addition to the drivers themselves, the Museum showcases all the other people who contribute to the sport, including car owners, design engineers, sponsors, technical crews, and even the media that has helped popularize the sport. Admission is free, but interested visitors can help out by making a donation or stopping by the Museum store for souvenirs and racing publications.
