Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Statue in Daytona Beach, FL
Baseball fans won't want to miss a stop at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark, dedicated to the famous player who broke the color barrier in baseball when he played the first racially integrated spring training game there on March 17, 1946. Selected a year later to play in the major leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Robinson became not only a Hall of Fame legend, but one of the most important figures in the history of baseball. The venue, still an active Class A affiliate ballpark, appears much as it did on that historic day in 1946, and features a bronze statue that pays homage to Robinson and his contributions to the sport.
