Not too many people recognize Florida as being rich in culture, but the state is truly an example of a hidden gem in this respect, and
Ormond Beach is a fine example of why you shouldn't disregard America's panhandle when it comes to great historical heritage and works of arts.
Ormond Beach is a fantastic place to go if you're looking to enjoy the incredible qualities of Florida's coastline, but there's certainly more to the area if you look closely.
Ormond Beach is home to none other than
Tomoka State Park, which is located in close proximity to the Halifax and Tomoka rivers. This establishment showcases, preserves, and protects a great deal of Florida's wonderful geographical qualities, but that's hardly the extent to what this great place offers.
Tomoka State Park is the location of the notable Fed Dana Marsh Museum, which has exhibits on a wide number of things important to the local area. The museum features natural and cultural history, along with a quantity of work produced by the famous artist Fred Dana Marsh, an Ormond sculptor and respected architect.
The museum makes a wonderful compliment to the local area. The Park spans a great distance, and has around a hundred campsites for your camping pleasure. There's even a boating ramp for those that would enjoy traveling the Tomoka River along with its several tributaries. Keep in mind though that the waters in this area are designated as a manatee sanctuary. Enjoy their presence, but keep an eye out for them if you're using a boat.
