Offering sport fishing excursions since 1955, the Nelson family is something of a local tradition, and visitors can expect to be treated in style on their custom 40-foot charter boat Finest Kind II. Great for families, the private six-person off-shore fishing adventures offer opportunities to catch blue marlin, grouper, snapper, dolphin, sailfish, amberjack, kingfish, and barracuda.
The Finest Kind II features all the comforts of home, including an air-conditioned salon, covered fishing cockpit, microwave and refrigerator, sleeping bunks, shower, and an upper sundeck where guests can stretch out and work on their tans. The charter has also been tournament rigged and features top-of-the-line fish-finding apparatus like Loran, GPS, and a Color Fish Finder.
Guests can choose the half-day program of bottom fishing or trolling, or a full-day program that takes them 45 miles off shore to fish in depths of up to 300 feet. Exciting night trips are also available, where guests can try their luck fishing for shark and mangrove snapper.
