One of the only undisturbed natural blackwater streams left in Florida, Spruce Creek offers visitors a rich experience as they canoe down the meandering stream past hardwood forests, coastal marshes, and cypress swamps. In addition to kayaking and canoeing, visitors can enjoy a wealth of outdoor activities, including fishing, bird watching, camping, and hiking.
Cracker Creek Canoeing also provides guided eco-tours on its 40-foot pontoon boat, which takes guests on an educational excursion into the natural habitats of a variety of protected and endangered plants and animals, as well as a combined tour which includes a visit to James Gamble Place and Johnson's cabin and home, which still stand on the property.
