Certainly not a place for those who like their holidays stiff and formal, the Paradise Café is Cozumel is built around the timeless theme of 'chilling out'.
As the name suggests, the café is literally like an oasis in a far-flung end of the island of Cozumel and getting here can be quite as task if you aren't with a local or are terrible with directions. But once you're here, the party never stops! With live reggae music every day and plenty of chilled beer to gulp down, this café is a favorite with revelers from all over the island while also attracting its share of tourists. And if the going really takes a toll on your energy, you can simply take a nap in one of the comfortable hammocks that are strung all around.
Food at the Paradise Café is typical beach fare, although the chef does dish out an outstanding shrimp quesadilla. The café also offers relaxing massages, to make for a complete experience in sensory indulgence, while you can event rent the location for a private party. And if the reggae gets you groovy enough, complete your beach wear ensemble with braided hair, courtesy the in-house hair-braiders. The dress code is strictly beach causal and shoes are optional, which is an apt representation of the café's theme.
The best way to enjoy the Paradise Café experience is to head there right when it opens at 10 in the morning, and linger on until dusk, just as the café closes for the day. And while you're there, don't miss the hosts Porky and Harley, the two pigs that run loose through the café!
