Weather Information and Packing Advice for Copper Mountain, COIf you're planning a ski vacation to Copper Mountain, Colorado, you'll want to be aware of the weather conditions so you can pack appropriate gear and apparel. Below, you'll find a synopsis of each season in Copper Mountain to better prepare you for your Copper Mountain vacation. Winter With ski season at Copper Mountain Resort beginning in November, you'll be able to ski during the whole winter season at Copper Mountain, but you'll want to be prepared for very low temperatures. Keep in mind that the temperatures below are at a lower elevation than in the mountain. If you're going to be skiing, make sure to dress in layers. Your base layer will need to be made of polypropylene, the insulating layer made of fleece, and your outer layer should be a waterproof/breathable shell. Also, make sure to bring goggles or sunglasses along with sun block.
Spring With the arrival of spring, the close of ski season is right around the corner. Copper Mountain Resort's ski season generally ends in mid-April, depending on the snowfall. You'll notice that although winter is over, temperatures still do not get very high, so when taking a trip to Copper Mountain for Spring Break or any other spring excursion, you'll still want to pack your warmest clothes.
Summer Summer temperatures do get higher, but you'll notice by the temperatures below that even the highs do not reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit, although the highest recorded temperature was in July of 1939 at 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Generally, if you're vacationing to Copper Mountain in the summertime, you won't have to worry about very high temperatures. You'll probably want to bring jackets and pants for your vacation, though, especially if you'll be spending a lot of time outdoors. Also, keep in mind that precipitation levels below are for areas at lower elevations than Copper Mountain.
Autumn Temperatures begin to cool down drastically in autumn. The beginning of ski season at Copper Mountain Resort usually occurs in the early days of November, when enough snow has accumulated on the mountains. If you're looking to catch Copper Mountain at the opening day of ski season or around the beginning of the season, you'll want to come fully equipped with ski gear and apparel and be prepared for cold winter days and nights, even though it is technically autumn.
