The American Numismatic Museum is actually a nonprofit organization that is educational, that is dedicated to educating as well as encouraging people of all ages to collect and study money; and everything else that is related. Along with going to the museum, you may become a member just like 33,000 other people have! The Association helps everyone from the general public to the academic communities, and also collectors! Another great discovery is that the museum helps people explore as well as learn about money through different programs such as its museum, publications, library, seminars and conventions, and also through education.
The mission statement of the museum is to encourage as well as educate people through the studies of money by promoting, protecting, and preserving the interest of those people that want to learn about the world of money.
In the money museum, the discovery of money is brought to life by exploring history, art, science, and everything that is related! In the museum there are 3 different galleries; all of which have different collections or exhibits. In fact, there are over 250,000 pieces from the beginning of making money to modern day money. Some of the highlights are George O. Walton 1913 liberty nickel, the 1804 dollar, and the 1866 no motto series.
