For athletes of all ages, Pedal the Platte features a 10 and 30 mile bicycle run through South Platte River's scenic trail. This is a charity ride, with proceeds benefiting the Beckwourth Outdoor Education Center.
At Evergreen Cemetery, volunteers reenact soldiers from various wars, including Union Infantry Sargeants from the US Civil War, German Foot Soldiers and British Corporals from WWI, German Infantry, Polish Partisan Soldiers, and US Army Staff Sargeants from WWII, and Army Soldiers from the Vietnam Conflict.
This tasteful and educational event also displays equipment from the time of the various periods, and a number of events that include a balloon release to remember fallen soldiers.
