Geared towards kids, the Federal Reserve Bank's Learning Center and Money Museum offers exhibits on the history of money, its role in people's lives, and how it shapes different societies and cultures. Highlights include the Money Tree, which features replicas of U.S. currency over the past three hundred years, the giant stones the people of Yap Island still use for money, and a display of currency from around the world. Educational exhibits encourage kids to make guesses about a culture's history and heroes through the images on its currency, and lets them try their hand at the practice of bartering.
The Museum provides guests a free copy of A Kids' Guide to Money, an interactive book that teaches children all about earning, spending, and saving.
